I picked up CART Racing, mainly for the Rendition version, as I bought a
Stealth II card. Managed to get it working, there's a thread here about it,
but the in-car view is quite screwy IN THE CAR. Outside the car it's
gawgeous!!
I had the same problem as Jeff, as I went with installing through W95, which
automatically puts ALL 3 versions on your system. I was waiting for a
menu.... *sigh* This is really stupid guys. However, if you read this post
you can find out that if you just quit to DOS and navigate to the \DOS dir on
the CD, each DOS version has a DOS install routine too, which is helpful to
know AHEAD of time *sigh* again.
Lastly, I have to agree that the book is worth the price of admission. It's
fun to read and if you're not a master of setups already, you'll probably
learn a thing or three. Even if you don't agree with Steve Smith's methods,
the book will rekindle your passion for this sim. He seems to know his stuff,
and has a lot of interesting bits about the sim vs. reality, things that
weren't modeled, and why things happen... For me, it's worth the cost.
