Multiplayer Viper over a LAN with 1 CD

Multiplayer Viper over a LAN with 1 CD

I would like to play multiplayer Viper over 2 PCs that I have networked at
home.  Viper requires the CD to be installed to play and I don't really want
to buy another copy.

I have the Viper CD in a CD-ROM drive on one PC - this drive is 'mounted'
(mapped as a network drive) by the other PC.  However, Viper still won't run
on the other PC (it looks for the Viper CD to be in on the local CD drive).

Thanks, Brian

Did you install Viper to the remote PC from the mapped CD drive or from its
own local drive?  Seems like it must hold the info for where to find the CD
someplace and should look to where it was installed from.

Just a thought,

Thanks for the info - this patch at this site didn't work for me, but the
one at www.megagames.com did.
