What full optical (no potentiometer) wheels are available?  I'm especially
interested in non-forcefeedback.  thx!

I beg to differ my friend :) It's definitely an optical pot in the Precision
wheel.

I have both the FFB and Non FFB and it's only the FFB that has the optical.

I'm still disagreeing with you ;)

The FF wheel first
http://shop.microsoft.com/Referral/ProductInfo.asp?siteID=10377

Get a feel for the road
Feel your tires hug the asphalt. Tighten your grip as an icy road sends you
into a tailspin. Watch the wheel go slack mid-air and then rumble over
railroad tracks. It's everything you'd expect from force feedback
technology. A digital-optical tracking system pinpoints your position for
accurate, split-second steering control. And with a powerful 16-bit 25 MHz
co-processor, you'll feel the torque of top speeds at your fingertips. So
hang on tight because there's no speed limit for fun!

The Precision wheel next
http://shop.microsoft.com/Referral/Productinfo.asp?siteID=10079

Precision driving experience - Designed with potentiometers, the SideWinder
Wheel offers precision handling for the performance that racing fanatics
demand.

I'm pretty sure they would have mentioned optical pots for the Precision
wheel if it used them :)

If you still think I'm wrong I'll have no alternative but take the cover off
and get my digi cam out <G>

BTW, I'm 100% sure that the pedals in both the FF and non FF wheels use
standard pots, I've had to take them apart to grease the annoying squeaks :)

What optical (non-potentiometer) wheels are available ??

only one I KNOW of is the Microsoft Wheel... and they arent too bad, (I LOVE
MINE).  there might be others, and I dont know if MS makes em new without
FF.  A lot of good drivers use the FF but turn off FF in like nascar...
Problem is the NON usb ones (Ive only heard this,) dont work with XP?  Mine
works fine with XP but I dint think it works with Win2k...  never tried it.
