Steering wheels - Potentiometer/Optical sensor question

by Graeme Mitchel » Tue, 24 Nov 1998 04:00:00

I'm looking to buy a good quality FF wheel.  My favourite at the moment is
the Microsoft wheel but I'm trying to wait patiently for the Logitech and
ACT Labs wheels to appear in the UK.

My query is - does anybody know if the Logitech and ACT wheels use a
potentiometer for the steering.  The MS wheel impresses me with the optical
sensor it uses which shouldn't deteriorate like Pot's apparently do.

If the Microsoft wheel is the only one which doesn't use a Pot then I will
go for that one.
