GPL *Cannot load track* error???

by Matt » Sun, 17 Jun 2001 08:51:03

I just thought I would install a few new tracks, however whenever I try
loading ANY track now in GPL it comes up with the error "cannot load track,
cancelling race weekend". I have tried deleting the new track entries from
gplseason.ini, and changing the number of tracks back to the 11 originals,
however no success. I also deleted the new track dirs under gpl/tracks. How
can I get GPL working again!? Ahhhhh frustrating!

Have you installed the carsound patch? I think I got that error after
installing the patch without actually putting the carsound wavs in the
sound -directory.

GPL *Cannot load track* error???

by Matt » Sun, 17 Jun 2001 09:36:48

Yes I do have carsound installed, but I do have the sounds so I dont think
that would be it? The problem I am having only occured after I tried adding
a few tracks (Solitude, Riverside and Halle-Saale-Schleife). All the tracks
were working before I installed these new ones, but now I just get a 'cannot
load track' error even after reverting back to the original settings. By the
way in my original post I meant I changed 67season.ini back to the original
settings, not gplseason.ini as I stated. Anyone else have any ideas?

In your season and GP ini files, check that the number of tracks shown at
the top is correct.

[Season]
name=All Tracks In Alphabetical Order
year=1967
numEvents=xx

Make sure xx is correct and all the tracks are in numerical order..

Same here, but the updated Riverside worked ok.  Don't have the URL, it
was posted here either yesterday or the day before though.  Good Luck.

GPL *Cannot load track* error???

Howdy ho Matt,

If ALL tracks are affected, it is more likely something that shows up at all
the tracks ... like yr car 8>)

Have you added 3rd party graphics and/or 3do's for yr car?? If yes ...
1. If it was quite recent, remove the latest car mod
2. If it was  NOT recent, check yr mods to see if any files are
missing/corrupted

If this doesn't work ... try sacrificing a *** ... if you can find one.

Yr friend in the aether,
smogbike

You can get this problem if your hard disc is full.

Sounds obvious, but it caught me out before!

Had that problem, just copy the track files from the CD to the game folder,
fixed mine up ok.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I forgot I had added an updated Honda
.3do at the same time as the tracks, I was convinced it was something to do
with the 3 tracks I added and didnt even think about updating the Honda
( Deleted the updated Honda files and it works perfectly!

Thanks again
Matt
