SCGT and Co-Driver Cahnges?

Sorry if I got this posted more than once - MS Outlook Express crashed on me
and might not have sent it yet.

Ok, in the real SCGT, which are not LAP races but timed events (Enduro),
there are 2 or more drivers per car. Each driver is required to drive for a
certain length of time. In SCGT (the game), you do have the option to pit
and let the AI Co-Driver take over. But this is done with a 30 second
penalty - not very good when you are not very far ahead of the other
drivers - and so far I have yet to see driver changes in the AI controlled
cars, so this would be a major disadvantage. Is there a setting, as in the
time limit of the race, that you need to set for this to happen? Or is there
no setup at all to force the AI cars to also do a 30 second driver change?

Now in a 30-40 minute race this might not seem as much to you all. But IF I
wanted to do a real Enduro - say a few hours, then this would be needed as
well as being realistic.

Mike,

I've run a 6 hour race at Sebring (pausing the game every two hours to
get up and stretch - How do those guys do it?!)  I paid close attention
to the length of the AI pitstops and I don't think there were any even
close to 30 seconds.  Granted, I was only watching the position map at
the bottom of the screen, so it wasn't very accurate, but I'd put money
on it.  I can't find any setting to induce AI driver changes -- assuming
they take the same 30-second penalty as us carbon units.

Fortunately, the AI drivers are not "all that" so I could build up a
decent lead between pitstops. When I turned the Porsche over to my
co-driver after four hours, I still maintained the lead in the race.

I'm still in a learning curve with SCGT -- I've only had it for a couple
of weeks.  It ain't GPL, but it sure is fun.

You bet it is FUN! I went away from it for a bit when I got TOCA2, but I am
now back into it again. Both games are great to me, but they also both have
way different driving styles and you gotta watch yourself when you go from
one to the other  :)

If you try the Edit mentioned above somewhere about setting the AI to 2.00,
THEN the pit 30s stops WILL be a major hassle. Cause this setting makes the
AI even tougher.

Granted it is not GPL, but so are the cars too - F1 vs Sports Cars. Since
there is no longer a Team Lotus, I have no interest in F1 anymore - just no
Team, or Driver I care to root for.

By the way, did you see the Lime Rock CanAm today? It was awesome, all the
way to the finish!

SCGT and Co-Driver Cahnges?

I'm sorry, but the pitting totally ruined SCGT for me. Pushing hard in a
short race only to lose when you have to pit for fuel when the computer
cars didn't have to was idiotic. At first I thought perhaps I was pushing
too hard so I started to short shift and even lift on the straights in
order to use less fuel but still no go.

Unless there is a pitting patch this one will get deleted soon and I'll be
out of GT racing until the Le Mans game arrives.
