CMR: co-driver is gone! Help!

by Jeroe » Sat, 30 Jan 1999 04:00:00

Hi!

A few days ago I installed DirectX6.1 and the 3Dfx Dx6 drivers. CMR looks
good this way. But when I wanted to play CMR today, I found out I can't hear
my co-driver anymore! When I click on the wav-files in the explorer they are
played, and other games sound good too. Anybody knows what's wrong here?
Does it have something to do with DirectX6.1 or is this just bad luck?
Anybody ever had the same problem? I tried every (in-game)setting but
nothing helps...

Thanks in advance!

Jeroen

I don't know if this helps but I had the same thing happen after I installed
the TOCA 2 demo.  Unfortunatly, the co-driver did not come back until I
un-installed and re-installed CMR.  Good Luck.

I read on a CMR-forum that this problem can be solved by copying the file
"qmixer.dll" from the CMR-CD to the CMR-directory on the harddisk. It did
solve my problem. And yes, it is caused by the TOCA2 demo.

Bye, Marcel

Whereabouts did you DL DirectX6.1 and the 3Dfx drivers? I have been
having some graphics probs with the game and hopefully this may help me
out a bit. Forgive me, but I am a bit ignorant (alright, A LOT IGNORANT
okay??) regarding how to get updated drivers and exactly what will help
me out. I have a MATROX MYSTIQUE 220 with the MATROX m3D piggyback
installed on my system. What hardware setup (in CMR) should I pick from
the in-game options that would be most compatible and best suited for
this combo?

Yo! Thanks! I did indeed install the TOCA 2 demo. INCREDIBLE something like
this is possible... Copying QMixer.dll from the CMR CD (it's in the Setup
dir) to my CMR directory fixed my problems.
BTW I really love usenet! I can't count the times people helped me with a
problem (and the times I helped others...). It's absolutely great.

Bye,

Did you happen to install the TOCA 2 demo? If so copy the qmixer.dll file
off the CMR cd and install it in the CMrally folder. It worked for me. I
hope this helps.
