HELP!!! LOSS OF CO-DRIVER IN CMR!

by Jay » Sun, 06 Jun 1999 04:00:00

For some unknown reason, I went to run Colin McRae Rally tonight, and the
voice of the co-driver Nicky Grist was missing!

All other sound effects in the game run fine, but for some unknown reason
I've got no co-driver!

Anyone else have this happen ??? Whats the solution ???

Thanks in advance for the help...

HELP!!! LOSS OF CO-DRIVER IN CMR!

Saw this in another post below (should have looked before I leaped/posted?)
that the Toca2 demo (which I did load after CMR) replaces the Qmixer.dll
file that CMR needs with a newer/larger/different one.

It's in the c:\windows\system dir... So I copied it back from the CMR CD and
renamed the Toca2 one to a backup filename and VOLIA!! Nicky is back :-)

Thanks

HELP!!! LOSS OF CO-DRIVER IN CMR!

Hi guys,
This has also happened to me.  I'm happy to reinstall CMR but do you
know if there is any way of saving my "achievements" (my wins at
standard level to unlock expert level etc).

I resently installed an upgrade for Test Drive 5 & lost all my
unlocked tracks & cars.  Don't want that to happen again.

EMail would be nice as I only seem to get about a third of the
messages here.

Thanks,
Tina Long

Recently somebody posted that to get around the TOCA2/CMR
sound bug, all you have to do is copy the file QMIXER.DLL from the CMR
CD into the directory in which you installed CMR.  I can confirm that
this works for me.

However, if you still need to re-install just make sure you
back up everything in your CMRALLY/SAVE directory.  CMRALLY.CFG is
most important as it contains your best times/unlocked features, while
the other files are your saved games.

Try copying the qmixer.dll from the cd to your cmr directory.
