Yes. TEN will not run in DOS, only in WIN95. The NROS is on TEN, no
way around it sorry to say.

I'm not sure I understand the question so I'll explain how it
works. You connect to the internet via your own ISP then
run the TEN software (or run TEN's software and use one of
thier local dialups). You'll log in with your TEN id and password
then access the N2 area, then choose a zone to race in (zones
are rated based on the quality of your connection to each).
Once in a zone you can create a race, join an existing race
or just chat if you'd like. You can join races anytime prior to the
end of the practice session (password protected races, and races
limited to certain skill levels not withstanding). So far you've
been using the TEN front end software (Win95 app). When the
race's creator starts the practice session (right away if practice has
begun already), the TEN front end software will run the program
nros.exe (nros version of N2). After the race you end up back
in the zone. Nros.exe is still a DOS app and will be run in a Win95
dos box but Win95 nor the TEN software can be shutdown while
nros.exe is running.

Just sign up for TEN's 5 hour trial period. That should clear alot of
things up.
