rec.autos.simulators

I was wondering wether anybody could help me out with the following
questions - as I "tipped", that the people on this list are THE EXPERTS,
when it comes to car games:

1) My favourite car game is NFS 5 - PU, but I think the sound effects SUCK.
The engine sounds are ok in a few cars, but the rest just sounds stupid. Is
there any game (new or old) that has good and realistic sound engine sounds?

2) I heard the best sports car sim ever made is an old game, that has been
modified by gamers, and that "you guys" still plays it. Does anybody know
what game that is and where I can find / buy it? Does it run under Win2K
with a Geforce 2 card or is 98 better?

3) Does anybody know a website with a bunch of nice high res pics of sport
and rally cars?

GPL, the Ferrari, in the***pit view

GPL plays under 95/98/Me/2000/XP with Geforce2/2mx/2gts/3.....

  And yes like the other poster said...GPL is better sim.  Tougher too.

Are there any sports cars for GPL?

Ok. I realize I wasn't being very clear on the cars... What I meant by
sports car was actually more like "high powered street cars" - like
Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches, Dodge Viper asf. More or less the cars
"simulated" int the NFS series...
I guess there just isn't anything out there better in my taste than NFS 5 -
PU these days :-(
