GPL D3D on a G200?

by Kirk Lan » Mon, 26 Jun 2000 04:00:00

Anyone made it work yet?  I've tried it just a little and it didn't want to
even go to the car...I just want to see if the G200 can out-do the V2 now.

GPL D3D on a G200?

Hi Kirk,

I just downloaded the patch, and I'll give it a try tomorrow.
I already used the specific G200 rasterizer, which was ok but I ended up
getting a second-hand Voodoo II just for GPL.

In fact, ***! If this D3D is any good I need not have bought the V2.
:-(

I'll get back to you when I have any results.

Cheers,   John

GPL D3D on a G200?

Ok, I tried the D3D patch with my Millenium G200. It didn't work!

First attempt locked the machine. After I changed the core.ini setting for
'TossHighestMip' the lockup went away. However, the game still doesn't work
properly, as follows...

- All the text on the menus etc. isn't there.
- A lot of the graphic elements are not present, and leave big black areas.
i.e. undriveable.
- The whole thing seems very dark.

Maybe someone with more time/understaning can find some parameter tweaks to
solve this. Personally I'll carry on using the cheap Voodoo II I got for
GPL.
It's nice to know that D3D is an option now though, for when I buy a new PC.

Cheers,   John
