Moto Racer - my thoughts.

Moto Racer - my thoughts.

I bought the full version of Moto Racer at the weekend.  I have not
been disappointed with it.  The gameplay is just as smooth as the demo
and it is great fun to play.  The practice mode has a 'phantom' bike
which replays your fastest lap to date so you can race against
yourself.  This is helpful when trying out different bikes to see
which one meet your requirements on each particular circuit.

The flaws in the graphics have been mentioned elsewhere in this NG and
they are still there in the release version (ie being able to see
through walls) but I personally have never come across a motor-racing
game that doesn't have some flaws somewhere and it as long as it
doesn't detract too much from the game that's OK with me.  I'm not
claiming that there aren't any better games graphically, its just that
I haven't seen them.

Other downsides are that the menu system could be better and there is
quite a *** jazz-like soundtrack on some of the trials courses but
you can always turn it off if you're not into that sort of thing (some
Prodigy would have been nice).

The game is definitely arcade and *NOT* a simulation and Delphine have
said that is how it is supposed to be.  It's the best motorcycle game
I have seen on the PC.  I look forward to someone with better coding
skills than myself coming up with bike and track editors for this
game.

Cheers ..... Pete
