GPL screen lockup re voodoo 2

by Richard Prydde » Tue, 12 Jan 1999 04:00:00

I'm using a P11 300 with lx board and a voodoo 2 for acceleration
it's ok in 640 x 480 but if I use 800 x 600 the sreen locks up when
I leave the track to check my times.

Could anybody have any clues as to what it might be.

And advance I thank you!

If you're using drivers with Glide 2.54 that is your problem.  I'd
suggest going back to Glide 2.53 or earlier.

Drivers are glide 2.53 and placed in GPL folder I think actually the problem
may be a overheating problem maybe. If anyone has any other suguestions
they would be gratefully accepted.

thanks.

If you suspect a heat problem, you might want to try underclocking the
card.  To do this, change the SSTV2_GRXCLK value in this registry key
(the default is 90, so try 85 and see if the problems go away):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\3Dfx Interactive\Voodoo2\Glide

Ken...

Sorry! Didn't mean to disturb you. My comment was just a reference to Bruce
McLaren, the F1/CanAm driver, founder of McLaren Cars, and driver in GPL.
Your last name appeared to be McLaren. I was jokingly suggesting that the
group had benefited from a post from a celebrity. Absolutely no offense
intended. Please accept my apology if any was taken!

Would like to hear back from you.

Regards,

Jack
