T2 Wheel Configuration in Windows 95

I know that this has obviously been covered here before, but I was
wondering how the heck you get the T2 wheel to work with N2 in Windows 95?
It works fine in DOS, but acts as if there is no wheel connected when
running under W95.  I have the joystick properties set to 2-axis, 4-button
joystick, and it configures fine (go figure).  The wheel is connected to
the gameport of an 32PnP sound card, although I could put it on another
game card it has worked fine under the upgrade version for Windows 95 (the
version I have now is the full (OEM) version of Windows).  Any and all
advice are welcome, please send responses to me personally.  Thanks.

Check the date code of your T2 to see if the axis-converter is necessary.
If it is earlier than 961118 then you'll need to use the convertor b/c
without it Win95 will not recognize the controller.  If it's working in
Win95 but just not in N2, then you'll want to get the latest patches for N2,
as this is one of the problems that was addressed.

OK here is what needs to be done for your t1 or t2 to be recognised in win95.

Go to Control panel..
select joystick...
Joystick selection choice: CUSTOM
Select: 2 axis 4 button
Click on box where it says "special feature"
Click on box by "race car controller"
All done!

You may need to check to see if your game card is recognised as well.

Go to control panel/ system/ device manager
Double click Sound/game controllers.
If your game card is listed it is being recognised. If not you will need to
go to install new hardware. Do not have win95 search for it, but instead
choose from the list. example.. select game card, then choose thrustmaster
from the list, Select ACM card......

Hope this helps...

While there have already been some excellent replies to this problem,
there were a couple of things not mentioned that maybe of some help.

1) Make sure you have upgraded N2 to the latest patches which addressed
some of the problems with the T2 in the OEM version of the new Win95.

2) Go forth and get thee ThrustMaster's ProPanel which is a mucho better
game controller/joystick control panel option than the defaults with
Win95. <http://www.thrustmaster.com/support/propanel.html>
