Well, I coulda said that, but:

1) I was looking for something that took up as little space as
possible, while being as large as I could make it, and the circle
with the words "Jap Cars" lent itself well to that design issue.

2) Saying "Japanese Cars" was, IMHO, too close to showing considered
respect for the idea of allowing foreign cars into Winston Cup.

3) Other like-minded individuals don't mind it saying "Jap Cars".

4) I'm not a politician, and I have no desire to coddle whiney little
***es or woirry about satisfying some bleeding heart liberal's
concept of being politically correct.

In case you were not aware, there is a global trend to see
American people as being arrogant and self centred.  Both
your decal, and your comments regarding free speech don't
exactly form a good defense.

You are ignoring the rights of the website publisher to select
appropriate content for their pages.  This is just as important
as your right to free speech.  I guess this is what I see as
arrogance.  You cannot demand freedom of speech unless
you believe in and are prepared to protect the freedom of
others (ie websites).

If everybody put their efforts into protecting _each other's_
rights to freedom of speech, lifestyle etc, then we would
rarely have to worry about our own.

I don't think your decal was racist - racism is just an easy
way to point.  I don't think NASCAR relates to real cars
any more than our own v8 series translates to a holden or
ford road car - they are completely built from the ground up.

So I hardly see sticking Japanese style panels and badges
on what is essentially the same spec race car as all the
dodges and chevs and whatnot as really being an issue.
Might actually start seeing some technology in nascar engines too :)

Then get your own website and forum and post what you want. Then you would
be practicing your free speech rights. Posting something inflammatory on
another's site and screaming censorship is just stupid.

Again, post it on your own site and then you will have censorship rights
over it and be able to let people say what they want or not, after all, it's
a free country......... to a point.

Oh, and after you create your anti Japanese NASCAR website............ don't
be surprised when only a handful of people frequent it............

Vintook

P.S. I shall now practice my own free speech rights and say that you are a
complete moron.

When running a decent forum you always try to stop flamewars BEFORE they
break our.... I don't know the the forum in question but assuming they have
good moderators they made the choice of removing the post because it would
cause a fight to break out, not because of any percieved racism.

If posted at RSC it might be removed as well depending on the tone of the
post, in which subforum it was posted, what the context was, the history of
the poster and a load of other factors.
John you posted something the forum moderators saw as an invitation to war,
It's their house and they are absolutely free to do whatever they want to
stop wars in their own house, I fail to see where free speech (or lack of
it) come in ??

I am not *that* surprised they deleted it. The intention could be
interpreted as anti-Japanese regardless of the real intention.

The real intention? Probably no different than my disdain at the
Quattros "ruining" the spectacle of rallying. I know at the time time I
was very anti 4WD in rallying as it separated the field in such a
dramatic way.

I don't know too much about Nascar, but if a manufacturer "war" started
the spectacle could change somewhat. Think of the yellows they would
have to keep throwing for debris...

Cheers
Tony

I don't know why some of you Americans think we don't have freedom of
speech in every sense of the word in Europe, or freedom that equals or
surpasses most freedoms Americans think are special to the US, anyways,
just FYI John, you ignorant redneck.....:-)
