Racism. You are exhibiting at least 2 of those yourself.

No, I'm anti-foreign-branded cars in Winston cup.
Manufacturers haven't been able to give anyone a "run for their
money" since Nascar outlawed competition.
Yeah, look what it did to - err - for CART and F1...
There's not a damn thing wrong with being patriotic.

A lack of leadership is no substitute for inaction.

I have worked for Chrysler for 21 years. A couple of years ago it became a
German company. Now all Chryslers, Dodges, and Jeeps are technically German
products. Yes, the Jeeps that conquered Europe in WWII are now produced by
a German company.
My division makes the Neon and the PT Cruiser. One plant in the US, one in
Mexico. Not to take anything away from the US guys, but you know where the
hardest working people are? In the Mexican plant. I have been to both, I
know what I am talking about.
I spec out and release starters and alternators among other things. Most of
those parts are produced by Japanese companies, but you know where they are
made? Most of the ones we buy are made in Tennessee and Ohio. They do as a
policy start out by assembling a product in the States from Japanese
components, but that is only because of their conservative approach to
quality. In order to compete in price they have to find local suppliers, so
any part that has been in production for more than a few years is almost
entirely made in America.
Probably sounds like I am rambling a lot here, but I do have a point - this
is a global economy, we are all in this together, and the ignorance that
breeds nationalism has no place in modern society. The USA can't survive by
itself, and neither can anybody else, including Japan. Competition is good,
prejudice is not.
To get back to John's original point, if foreign companies shouldn't be
allowed in NASCAR, does that mean Dodge should be kicked out? It is owned
by DaimlerChrysler, a German company. If Dodge can stay in, there is no
reason to keep Toyota out, because the Camry is in exactly the same
situation as the Intrepid - designed and built by Americans (err, Canadians
in the case of the Intrepid) who just happen to work for a foreign company.

Well - Racsim isnt a very nice thing. You may or may not like the idea of
Toyota joining Nascar - but to be Racist about shows a shallow and weak
character. I have pity on you.
