GPL: 3D problems with nRiva chip

by Martijn Keize » Wed, 08 Apr 1998 04:00:00

My Videocard is a Asus 3Dexplorer with a nVidia Riva 128 chipset (quite
common, actually). Does anyone know how to use this card to accelerate
GPL ??

Currently I am forced to run "software" which is, as we all know, very
slow. Quake 2, CPR and TOCA are a few games that run perfectly using the
3D acceleration.
Maybe there will be an OpenGL mode***GPL (confusing name actually)

Any help appreciated

Thank you for reading this, when you could have run a lap in GPL

For the moment, it's... no :-(

I am praying for a D3D or (that would be a dream) an OpenGL version of
GrandPrix Legends.  Since the nVidia chipset supports OpenGL and D3D only
for accelerated mode (witch are not supported presently for GPL and possibly
N3), hope for a patch.

Otherwise go to your local computer store and buy a cheap Rendition card
(what I will do probably).
