N4 Multiplayer Car Question

I thought if you had a custom car painted and went to a multiplayer game
that the other drivers would see your design.  Does anyone know how the game
decides what your car looks like to other drivers in multiplayer?

Tom,
N3 always required all the car files that everyone had as default in the
sim.  If you had a cool Dale Jr. car off the net, unless everyone else did
on their computer, you may have been "Phillip Guillemot" #113 in an online
race.  No  idea if this is true on N4 as yet, but I know you can't use any
true WC drivers cars in online races because of  (get this) licensing
agreements!!!

I have seen custom painted cars in N4 because i had their car file in my CARS
