after i installed the improved sound patch i get the effects sounds but
no engine sound , from any cars , not just mine , tho this is not much
differrent than not hearing my car over the ai's , i would like to hear
my car , any help is apreciated.

i have the same problem -- Ensoniq AudioPCI sound card.  the demo upgrade
did this too but it wasn't as noticeable when i switched from 11kHz to 22kHz
sample rate -- but no difference in the retail version.

I just talked to Jeff, and perhaps the problem is that folks forget to make
sure you unzip the files into the proper directories. Not everything goes
into the SCGT main directory - there are some files that need to go into the
DATA and SOUNDS/22HZ subdirectories.
