I still need a processor upgrade before I venture onto VROC or somewhere.  But
I was wondering ...

Now that some of you have considerable experience, have you found that the
durability of the marques is an issue in intermediate and pro length races?

I've been spending a lot of time in the Eagle lately, but that doesn't make
sense if its going to fail on me as it often did in real life.

Thanks!

There are quite a few guys running Eagles in the on-line league i am
involved in and no noticeable problems have been happening at Pro
length races, which is the only length races we run.
If you keep your eyes on the temp gauge and don't over-rev the engine,
then you should not have any problems with reliability in any Marque.
I havn't tried Grand Prix length races, but up to Pro length, i havn't
noticed any problems with reliability with any Marque if you drive it
like you would a real car.
If you punish it, you will suffer the consequences, as you would
expect.
Cheers,
Ron

let's off-road!

and then jim clark's engine gave up on the last corner, so i was able
to slip past, take the chequered flag, and win the championship, which
was nice.

int the ferrari brilliant!  what 'appens, right, is you sit there on
the grid moving your right foot up and down and it makes a _really_ loud
noise, fantastic!  and every few minutes all the other cars go whizzing
past.  brilliant!!    werent graham hill brilliant? he beat everybody
in races, and he had the best helmet.

The offline league I'm in runs Pro - Long races.  The Eagle doesn't seem to
suffer from heavy unreliability (certainly nowhere near its real life
counterpart).  In fact, at Kyalami, almost all the mechanical DNF's were
Ferraris (which was right up there with Brabham in terms of reliability in
1967).  During a pre-season race at Monza, I did manage to blow up the
engine of a Lotus (I don't know if it was random or if I wasn't careful
enough with my shifting).

My advice, if you like the Eagle, go ahead and use it.

There were all these people who had just parked their cars in the middle of
the road. I began to weave my way past them when this man started waving a
green flag and the other cars began to dangerously speed off past me.

About a minute later another man started to wave a flag at me which this
time was coloured black. It was so very dark. Black, like the depths of
hell, BLACK I SAY BLACK, BLACK, BLACK !!
