Nascar2 HEAT and Win98

Here's the problem: I have a friend that I hook up with and race over
HEAT ( http://www.racesimcentral.net/ ). I'm running a Win98 beta (and that could
very well be the problem). With win95b we were able to race fine for
long races (150 lappers) but since putting Win98 on my machine I've been
getting kicked out. I am the answering machine (host). At some point I
will get a message telling me he has disconnected. My race continues on.
Right before it happens I will hear my 'puter 'working'. Upon exiting
the program I will see my modem connection is gone. Obviously, it is me
that has 'disconnected'. This will usually happen within 20-30 laps. He
says that he ends up racing by himself when it happens.

I haven't been running much at TEN so I don't know if this would happen
there also or not (I'll check).

My internet connection when browsing is fine... My screen saver is OFF
in the nosrend program.

Soooooo is anyone else having a like problem at HEAT or even TEN? Anyone
have that problem with a BETA WIn98 that was fixed with the final
version? Even if TEN works fine, I don't expect him to spring for the
charges anytime soon, so HEAT is the only viable (free) option. Any
ideas what might be wrong? Even success stories would be somewhat
helpful...atleast I'd know it CAN work.

I know HEAT also upgraded recently so it possibly could be a bug
there.... or the BETA 98...or a combo... or maybe BETA 98 setup a
variable differently and I haven't found or thought of it. I don't
necessarily want to upgrade to Final Win98 right now if this problem
remains.

Thanks in advance.
