I run N2/NR1999 from within W98. I have my Ensoniq AudioPCI
setup with the proper drivers which include SB DOS compatibility
from a DOS box which works fine. You need to run Soundset and
try to have your soundcard detected. If that fails just select the
minimum SoundBlaster choice (mono I think). You need to know
your IRQ, Base Address and DMA though. Also note that many
Windows soundcards (like the montego) will just not run N2/NR1999
that well. I got a Montego with my new Dell 450 and it just would
not give sound on the track with NR1999 (dos) at all. And the Windows
version did work but sounded like crapola. I went back to my AudioPCI
which works great with all Windows and DOS games.
