MBTR demo -- WOW!

by jbo.. » Mon, 17 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Okay, I'm stunned -- I took some time off work today to check out this
demo, and I am really impressed.  The MBTR demo might not put GPL to
shame, but it's very CONVINCING, it's a blast to drive, and the
graphics are awesome.  Okay, the graphics are about SCGT calibur, which
is actually pretty decent, but the frame rates ROCK!  I would give one
of my spare driving wheels to get SCGT to run that smoothly!  How did
they get physics that feel so decent, graphics that look so good, and
frame rates that put virtually everything else to shame?

At the moment, as far as demos go, this ranks right up there with some
of my all-time favorites, including GPL, Viper Racing, SCGT,
Powerslide, DTR, and NFSPU.  I can't wait to see the final version (in
ENGLISH, hopefully!) -- I think MBTR may turn a bunch of us into truck
racing freaks (and not the NASCAR Craftsman Truck type, either).

How do you get split axis pedals to work with this demo?

I like MBTR too.  Anything that gives me something new to drive and has
convincing physics is worth the money :-D  I hope the package will include
good multiplayer with practice and qualifying.

I took a drive in the infield too.  Off the backstraight there is an
opening to your right.  I drove behind the pit area and did some physics
testing .. yea that's it :-)

Jason.

I noticed that too... this has to be the first game to actualy place breaks in
the walls (to the infield and out).  Really awesome.
