I have played both and I like Colin McRae alot better.  I am anxious
for the release of Colin McRae 2 (in the works)

And I second that. I find CMR fun and RC2K irritating.

They're aimed at different markets. Rally Championship (as RC2K is
called in the UK) is a sim, pure and simple - it's the nearest there is
to a rallying GPL. CMR has more of an arcade element - it's a lot of
fun, and I like it a great deal, but it doesn't quite have the
challenge of RC (unless you try winning in a Mk2 Escort...).

Mobil 1 Rally is the US version of Rally Championship 2000. Like ppl
said in previous posts, it's more difficult than Colin McRae Rally
because it's more simulation racing. Personnaly i prefer CMR 'cause
i'm not a *** racing player. But they both are great games.

How does Mobil 1 Rally stack up?

I agree that CMR is a much, much, more drive-able game/sim than RC2k/Mobil1
Rally.

The graphics aren't as good, but hey... It's 2 years old!!!!

The thing I like best, is that I can come home from work, fire it up, and
spend a few min's enjoying myself... Whereas RC2k, unless it's completely
detuned, is an excersie in frustration to drive!!!

Waaaayy too sensitive, and touchy, albeit a great looking sim/game....

I wish I had the spare time to spend learning and mastering that sort of
game, but I don't have that kind of spare time to kill, so games like
Toca/Toca2, CMR, SCGT (with cheat codes enabled :-) and other sim's are more
rewarding to me....

Voice your opinion at CNET's Gamecenter website and let them know what ya
think! I did....

The only bad thing I have to say about Colin McRae is that
in real life he switched to ford, so the main car in Colin McRae
Rally 2 is going to be the ford.  UGH!

I got Mobil 1 over the weekend.  So far, I've found it highly
enjoyable.  Only thing is, they need to find a way to modulate the
co-driver's voice.  I mean, some of these turns I've overcooked in the
snow.  We're flying 80+ mph, launched from a snow drift skyward, and my
co-driver is still droning on with the directions.  At the very least,
he should be losing some of the bass from his voice ;-)).  If not
screaming to his God.  But seriously, it's hard to put this one down.
*Make sure you turn the steering sensitivity WAY down*

Here's a few more reviews. I'm not sure I've ever seen a sim get better
reviews than RC2000. CMR is not in the same category.

Try using the female co-driver. It's easier to hear.
