Moto Racer is INCREDIBLE!

I know that this is old news by now, but I just have to get my .02
in...

I downloaded the MotoRacer demo last night and it is probably the best
looking racing game I have ever seen. The gameplay is excellent too.
The sounds are great too. This is one great game.

My system is as follows: P-166, 32 meg RAM, Diamond Stealth 64 w/1 meg
(NOT a 3d card), etc. and so on. I am able to play the game with full
detail using the 16x9 mode and it is totally fluid and smooth. I can't
imagine how phenomenal it looks with a 3d card. Every game company on
the face of the earth can take lessons from Delphine on how to write
and code a racing game. The graphic quality is better than GP2, NFS2,
Nascar 2, ICR2, and it is faster than all of them (except N2 and ICR2
-- it is about the same). Two very enthusiastic thumbs up from me.
Can't wait til it is available here.

Todd

I can't Imagine how phenomenal it looks with a 3d card. Every game
company on
I agree that the motoracer demo is great, especially with 3d
acceleration from my rendition board.  I would not say that it looks
better than icr2 or nascar2 with the 3d card though. The detail is not
that fine in the moto demo as compared to n2 or icr2...

The Rendition card only does the standard "Direct 3D", if you have a
3dFX card there is a "-3dfx" option you can use when starting the
game. Using a 3dFX you also get the option of "Filtered" in the
options screen, which gives improved graphics, both looks and speed (I
have both 3dFX and Rendition to use as direct comparison).

In any case the game is great on both. I personally like the "Sea of
Sand" track from the add-on pack, and "Rock Forest" is nice and busy
too. On a network link-up this game is totally sensational. The
colours are a little too brash to be used for a real sim, but I wonder
what the engine could do with an F1 game (hint hint Delphine...!).

Cheers!

The rendition card does support the filtered option in the game, but it
needs to be switched on in the option menu each time i start the game.

With a Rendition card, you ALSO have to option of FILTERED.  I also have
both.  It does run better on 3dFX but not much.

I have to agree with you, this game is insane on a 3dfx.

Or a 500cc GP sim!

Agreed!  This is an AWESOME game.  It's hard to go back to non-3D
stuff after playing this.  Get the extra tracks pack...Red City track
ROCKS!

Are you kidding? N2 and ICR2 have no where near the graphical detail
of Moto Racer on a 3dfx.

Have you seen the rendition versions of icr2 and n2?  They are much more
photorealistic as compared to motoracer, which i don't think looks much
different on a 3dfx card vs rendition using the filterd option. Granted,
you may get better frame rates.

Hmmmmm.....I'm not impressed. Since when can you turn a bike in the
air?
