Cars Don't Pit On NASCAR RACING!!!!!!

On Nascar racing, while i am racing i get up into the lead and then i
have to make a pit stop to get fuel and 4 tires. Then when i get out on
the track again i notice that no other cars go into pit the whole race.
Why is this, I get mad that i spend all this time setting my car up to
race and when i finally dominate i lost because all the other cars don't
have to pit. Is this a really big problem and is there a patch for it.

Also, How can i get the pit stall that i qualified for. I always get the
last available pit stall. It really ticks me off when i have to go the
speed limit when for the whole stretch of pit road when i am tearing out
to get back on the track.

I hope someone can help me, I thank anyone who writes back in advance
because i know a lot of you could care less about my problems.

Thanks,

John Oliver #32 (Jello Motorsports) <----- My own racing team.

What length are you running the race at. We've run numerous modem and regualr
races over hear and the  AI cars pit just like anyone else.

Well, that really gets us fired up to help you out. :-)

The AI will pit on a schedule of stops.  If you pit when they do, then
you'll compete with them equally.  If not, you have to use some
strategy to balance when you pit with how quickly you use your
equipment up.

It also depends on how long your races are.  If you're running a 10%
race with a qual setup or something, then yeah, the AI aren't gonna
pit.

Be grateful for it.  Imagine having to sandwich yourself into pit
stalls between other cars or worse, pitting on the backstretch on some
tracks and losing your track position.

Full length race?

First stall or last stall, you STILL have to obey the pit speed limit<g>.

This just shows close-mindedness...

I am NOT paranoid.  And why are you always watching me?!?

Just a thought.... Does anyone know if there is a setting in the
track.txt or any other file that lets you change the pit road speed
limit?  Will it accept a three digit number?  :-)

Best wishes

There is a line in the track's .DAT file that tells the AI when to pit
the computer cars.  This can be altered, but if you are running a 30 lap
race, and the AI is set to pit between 35 and 39, then you are just
using up your car's tires and/or fuel too fast.

I ran a test one day - told the AI to pit all cars between laps 11 and
12 - to see how much of a mess the pits would be if all 38 of them were
trying to pit under green.   But the simulation had an accident on lap
10 anyway.   The numbers here may even suggest to the AI a more frequent
accident rate.   :-)
As usual, not enough data yet to tell.  Your mileage may vary.  Box was
full when shipped.....Never run with scissors...

The pit road speed limit is not in the track.txt file. Sorry.

Anybody got a way to lose this speed limit?  I used to love watching the
cars scream into the pits at 120 sliding to a stop and then speed out
wwith the tires smoking, but alas that is WAY to dangerous in real life.
BUT in the sim who cares who I kill? I want to run some classic carsets
and would love to run the classic rules. any Info?

Sorry, the pit road speed limit is always enforced in a Race session.

Consider reversing out of the pit lane then. :-)

It's a bit dangerous on some of the smaller tracks, but on the large
speedways, reversing out of the pit lane is always the quickest way
out.
Talladega is the best of all for pitting, go straight over the grass
out onto the track.

Hey, Rick...side issue here:  Are you REQUIRED by SOL to include them on your
sig instead of Papyrus now?

No. However, there is no longer an entity named Papyrus Design Group,
