Nascar car sets don't work

by an237.. » Thu, 25 May 1995 04:00:00

Does anyone know how I can get the '95 car sets working with myt version
of Nascar here in AUS. I think the version is 1.01. I can get the sets
working when I view the in Driver Info, but they don't work when I go
into the garage in the race.
 Thanks.

Why are you using an anonymous email sender thingy?

I can't get sets that anyone else has created to work in version 1.02,
when I select them the game abends with memory errors, then says the cars
file is corrupt when I try to reload, and I have to reinstall the game,
so I've given up trying to use other people's car sets....

I had the same problem with a downloaded car set.  Mine now work, and I
hope your problem is as simple as mine was.  The under the directories
nascar\cars\XXXXX, the XXXXX must be the same as the carset (.dat) file.

On Macs, I have no idea.....sorry.

If the XXXXX is different (directory/carset.dat), the game WILL crash the
second you try to put the new carset into play.

P.S.  If for some reason, this happens to you, copy your original cars94
over to the new directory and rename cars94.dat to the directory name. At
least that will get you running again......

GOOD LUCK!!!

Same here, what gives? After I install a new car set, I can't even get
back into the game until I edit the gameopts.cfg file to point at the original
set. This, needless to say, SUCKS! Help!

I believe this type of error occurs if the *.dat file is not named the
exact same as the subdirectory in which it is placed.
