Irresponsible?  I'm sure the original poster would like to know what is so
irresponsible about his/her post.  If anything your post is 90% his/hers.
You've tacked on two lines and kept his/her original post. Now thats
irresponsible.  If people like Brian Matthews are common on this NG, I'm
off!

BTW Eros, your replay is well worth the 30seconds it took to come down...

I notice YOU are using the same FICTITIOUS email address as the original
poster, who also attached a VERY LARGE file to his/her email.

LARGE UNSOLICITED ATTACHMENTS SHOULD NOT BE SENT TO NEWS GROUPS
PARTICULARLY WHEN USING A DUBIOUS EMAIL ADDRESS.

THIS HAS VIRUS WRITTEN ALL OVER IT!!

You've completely missed the point, but then again YOU ARE a 'Southern
Softie'.

LARGE (unsolicited) attachments, particularly from DUBIOUS email
addresses should NEVER be posted to Newsgroups!!

If you are happy to receive such files, you deserve to catch all the
viruses currently around!!.

First off I appologize for posting an enormous, 36kb, virus free, zipped
.RPY file in this group.  Second,  well, there is no second. I'm sorry.

I've posted this file at alt.binaries.simulators.autos for anyone
interested.  I was not aware that NG existed, however ignorance is no
excuse.  Once again, I apologize to anyone whom I've offended

Sorry Brian for pissing you off.

"Taffy" in the UK refers to a Welshman, derived from the Welsh river
Taff, and is not necessarily classed as "name calling".

Scotsmen are "Jocks" - Irishmen are "Paddies" - English (southerners)
are just PLAIN SOFT!! (mainly in the head) ;-)

Hope the above adds to your collection ;-)

Geez, lighten up. The guy made a mistake, perhaps if you bothered to
enlighten him on what he had done wrong he would know for next time.
This group is generally fairly tolerant of peoples opinions and the
occasional ignorant mistake, newbies of otherwise,  lets try to keep
it that way.

GPL Replay - IRRESPONSIBLE POST!!

by Quin » Sun, 10 Jan 1999 04:00:00

I got gpl just before Xmas and have really enjoyed it a lot. I have a bronze
foundry and have had the pleasure over the last year of casting Jim Clark,
Colin Chapman, Roger Clark and Mike Halewood all for Mallory Park race track.
Yesterday we installed Roger Clark and I had the good fortune of talking to
some of the guys working there who told me a little about the drivers. Seeing
the Lotus Sign and all the drivers I almost felt as if I knew them myself from
playing the game and working on their statues. It was a good day. After
returning to Edinburgh a 8 hr drive I fired gpl up and jumped into the Lotus
and drove Monza and got my fastest lap 1.29.25 my previous best was 1.33 maybe
those drivers of yesteryear were helping me. Just a nice thought.
Which brings me to 2 questions
1. is it possible to design a track of Mallory for GPL
2. when using Allison's Aitweaks all the drivers are in the same cars and they
don't have names is this right.
I also found by studying Wolfgang Woegers fast laps have really helped my lap
times. The main way they have helped is I noticed that he was coming out of
the bends in 3rd when I was using 2nd which has increased my speed quite a lot
and stopped me spinning my wheels quite so easily.
TIA for any input
Quinn

Taffy comes from the river Taff that runs through Cardiff in South Wales and
refers to people from South Wales. Goggy comes from the Welsh word for North
and refers to people from North Wales. Both terms are depreciatory
(spelling?).  I come from the South, so I suppose I am a Taffy.
