After finally breaking myself from my Everquest ***ion, I reinstalled
GPL, Viper Racing, and my Logitech FF.  I got the newest logitech drivers
(3.30), and installed patches to both games.  I left the "combine axis" box
unchecked in the game controllers menu.  In Viper it works properly, accel
is BX+, brake is BY+.  In GPL, brake and accel are always on the same axis,
no matter what I set it to in game controllers.  It worked last time I
played GPL (april 99....sorry, I'm so *** for leaving you guys, hehe),
but now with the patched GPL I can't split axis.  I might reinstall tonight

If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal.

The new 3.30 Profiler can do separate/combined axes on a per-game
basis. This will take precedence over the game controllers properties -
those are really only applied when the Profiler is not running.

To set your desired mode, choose the GPL profile, then go to Edit-
steering wheel settings", and select whether you want combined/separate
pedals.

You can do this for all and any game; the menu Options->Global Device
Settings allows you to set the default mode.
