F12002 Tracks

Just spoken to a mate who's downloaded a copy of F12002 off an FTP.

Now granted - this might still be a beta - but  he DOES know his sims and
he's DISGUSTED at the tracks - no change from F12001 at all.

WTF are they playing at. My 2 gripes with F12001 are the menu system and the
tracks.  Seemingly they've fixed neither!

Anyone else know anything about this?

Yeah, F1 2002 has the same inaccurate fantasy tracks that F1 2001
has.

Chatting to the guy - Silverstone's not changed - The A1 ring is laughable.
The new layout N'ring and Hockenheim both suck increadbly.

Thinking about it - look at the F12002 Demo.  What's the single obvious
thing about that track.

It's completly flat.

Anything else and they just dont bother doing a decent job

Have these guys not seen the tracks in F1RC?

Are the F1RC tracks convertable? Seems that most things can be

Thanks guys.  I know now I won't buy it, or even get it illegally.

I'll get a warez version to look at the tracks - see they're shit for
myself - THEN not buy it.

If the tracks ARE good - then I'll buy it for the sole purpose of seing what
the GT Mod team can come up with for it.

While we're on it- what 3rd party plans are there for tracks in F12001?

You know what bugs me......what the *** are these *** web sites worth
when they do reviews/interviews/previews and don't even ask the questions
that need to be asked?

If the developer/publisher says they won't answer certain questions then the
web sites should tell them to***off. I'm sick of all this *top secret*
bullshit from the developers/publishers. ALL of them pull this shit and it's
ridiculous. The web sites just make it A LOT easier for them.

Let's face it.  Unless Papyrus decides to do a proper F1 Sim, we're just not
going to see one.

It's an Arcade world out there.  Pump em' out the door with a new year on
the box.  Content doesn't matter.

Hell, Norton/Symantec has been doing it for YEARS!

Where's a guy like Randy Magruder when we need a little integrity versus the
game developpers/producers?

No really, we are treated like shite.  Worse then Space Sim people.
Absolutely no contact, nothing.  And they wonder why we treat them like
shite in return.  Just look at E3.  Where were the real racing simulations?
Nowhere to be found there!!!  1001 games, not a ***y serious simracing
title.  They are all either pure arcade, or "simarcade" that in the end we
just play for fun awaiting the next best thing.  Which are 2-3 years apart
nowadays...

I read a preview of the game not long ago that said that ISI were
working with Redline racing (the name Huttu sound familiar?)
specifically to fix Silverstone and a couple other tracks based on their
feedback.  Now it's possible that they still got some things wrong, but
to say it's not changed makes me think your friend does not have the
final version of that track, or possibly any of the others.  I'm going
to reserve judgement until the final game is available.  You guys are
far too eager to jump to conclusions based on unsubstantiatable rumors.

Wait a minute - he said the menu system hasn't changed?  Then he
downloaded a clever fake based on F1 2001.  The menu system HAS changed,
just look at the demo.
