Please comply with this or I will be forced to pull the whole pack
from the site and will not do anymore :(

Number 1, I do not have any advertisers on my site, nor do I wish for
any. The only banner I have on my site is the GA Sports and this a
requirement for the server space.
Seeing how I only have a 56k modem myself, and I uploaded both the 125
meg files AND the 50 meg car only files, I don't understand what the
deal is. before you go to bed that night, set the download, go to
sleep, next day its done.
THAT is exactly what WOULD happen if I took away the copyright. Some
jerk out there WOULD try to profit from it. I do not want any profit
for it. Too many people already trying to make money in everything I
enjoy. This was meant to be free, and the only I can assure it stays
that way is to keep the copyright strict.
I did.. Its called Service Pack 3.0 :)

James,
(Again, I'm just asking here) Did you have express permission from ISI
and EA to reverse-engineer their retail .exe and post in on a public
domain website?
quite often, the whole business of patching, tweaking and modifying games
is stepping all around the literal interpretation of copyright, so
splitting hairs over the further distribution of the file is a bit silly.
But if you do have such permission, then you have every right to keep up
your stance.
Stephen
A quick bit of mental arithmetic suggests that at a download rate of 3000
CPS it would take slightly under 12 hours to download 125 megabytes of data,
resulting in The Radio-Active Killer Phone Bill From Hell and large
Christmas bonuses all round at British Telecom.
If you have copyrighted material in the package then you/we have to live
with the distribution limitations which the copyright holder imposes , and
anyway, at the end of the day it's _entirely_ up to you what ditribution
conditions you impose on your own work, but I'm not at all surprised that
people want to find some way of getting hold of this stuff without the
monster download...

And here in Switzerland the off-peak cost is only about 0.70 SFr per hour,
which is about 30 pence, or .50 USD per hour. So, the cost to download
would be less than the CD and postage.
I think we should finally put this argument about Internet access costs to
rest, especially when people whine about the additional cost to download
an unwanted USENET message. Maybe if you live in the Shetland Islands and
have a radio phone linkup then you have a case, but if my Internet access
in the middle of the Swiss Alps is so cheap, then I think the other people
who whine about costs just haven't done some basic research into the
options for an ISP. I've looked into Deutsch Telekom rates and several
British ISPs, and there are plently of cheap roads onto the Internet now.

Still waiting for my first bill since changing to this tarif, but I'm
expecting to save considerably more than the 15 fee.
Still waiting for digital cable though so I can get a Cable modem.
