Psygnosis F1 Demo

Well I downloaded the demo. Guess what? I really liked it and
will probably get it today. Graphics wise, it just blows GP2
out of the water. Small things like tire marks where you spin the wheels,
shadows on the tracks from the clouds ect. Plus the framerate is
unbelievable. So while the demo was apparently not the simulator
GP2 is, it was quite fun. Plus it does show off the 3DFX card. I
guess for the time being, I'll be buying games which support 3DFX.
If they don't I'll probably pass.

There was on problem I had though. I have played racing games for several
years. For the last year I have had a T2. All of my driving games had been
in DOS. I have the T2 connected to a Joyswitch (channel 2) along with a
TM FCS/WCS/RCS on channel 1. Win95 sees the stick and WCS just fine
when I switch to the T2 I get nothing. I must have tried everything. I looked
at the TM web site & followed their instructions. But the signals from the T2
somehow are not recognized in Win95. Any tips here? I never setup the
T2 in Win95 :-)

Thanks in advance.

You can find the link at the patches and demos page of 3dfx.com.  I liked it,
but felt the graphics were "unrealistically fast" compared to GP2 (maybe
"arcade-like" would be the description) and the other drivers follow the
racing line come hell or high water -- no real AI.

Get DirectX 5.0.  It's got a new joystick control panel that supports
the T1 & T2.

I never had problems detecting a T1 with the old control panel, but I
did have problems calibrating it correctly.

All fixed after upgrading to DirectX 5.0

Mark.

I am pretty sure that the T2 will need to be channel 1 for it to be
detected.
