My first race at Spa. Back of the grid but that's only to be expected. I
have only raced this circuit for one lap and most of that rolling backwards.
Lap one goes as expected, a detailed examination of all the crash barriers
and hay bales, but what the heck this is fun! Lap two and whats this? I am
overtaking! I just overtook Surtees! and Clark! I am winning! Leaving them
for dust! HA I am the greatest! I could show that Damon Schumacker chap a
thing or two. You are now looking at a motor racing demon. Lap three is a
breeze. Coast past chequered flag and into pits. Champers all round! Then
tragedy strikes. Spinning newspaper reveals that I have won. Yes yes yes yes
YES but only because the other cars ran out of fuel. On a three lap novice
race? Anybody know what happened? Were drivers at that time, concious of the
Earth's dwindling fuel supply, taking steps to put off the fateful day when
the pumps ran dry even if it meant not finishing a grand prix race. OR is it
a BUG? Enquiring minds want to know.
I remain your humbled GPL racer
