Another boring GPL-Voodoo3 question

by Dirk M » Fri, 02 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Hi all,
I think, most of all can't read the word Voodoo anymore:).
But I have one question to that theme. I will get my Voodoo3 200-PCI in
the next days. What Glide-driver should I use for GPL:): the one that
comes with the card or an other one??
Thanks in advance
Dirk

Hello,
Yes, I'm using the glide driver that came with the unit, no problems.
Just make sure you install 3dfx tools from the installation cd.
You'll have to change "limit texture ram to 3 megs" in the settings.
Works great.

I just plugged one of these units in, and I'm getting some wackyness in the
textures.  Some of the trees are missing their tops and I've got some strange
shadows running across the track.  Sorry if this has already been addressed
here, but I was ignoring the V3 advice until yesterday.

Sorry, It should read limit texture ram to 2 megs. Not 3, opps.
These settings will be in your display settings in the control panel, after
you install the 3dfx tools from the installation cd.

Nevermind, someone posted a link to a fix an hour later.

Thanks
