Just in case I've not been clear about this.........

The sound system package that Papyrus has implemented with NASCAR 3 is
absolutely awesome.

If you have your sound system "settings" done properly.....and you are using a
surround sound or home theater type set of amplification speakers....or dual
front and rear (separate amps) speakers with a good subwoofer built into the
speakers themselves........well....let me put it this way:

The sounds in NASCAR 3.....are the equivalent of the "GPL Physics Model" in
racing sounds!  They are absolutely spectacular!

If you are running an SB Live or MX300.....Papyrus has "tweaks galore" for you
in customizing your N3 sounds.

Way to go Papyrus.....SUPERB job.....you've set a new "standard" in racing sim
sounds.......just like you did with the GPL in racing sim car physics modeling.

I'd also like to thank them for releasing (at least in the US), a NON-
copyprotected version of N3.  Whenever I want to play, I just click and
go, no fumbling around for the darn CD.  In this day of making the paying
customer suffer for piracy, their decision is really really amazing.

I also love the sounds even though I don't have a 4 speaker setup, sounds
just like on TV!

I got my Dolby pro logic stereo hooked in my computer, 2 12" woofers, 2
6"woofers, the wall are rockin,  I can feel a car pass me through my body,
Just like if I was really driving it,  Its awesome, Just  hope the speakers
don't format my hard drive, (kind of a small space)

Well there's a CD check for multiplayer. So I guess their thinking is
to prevent from people playing LAN games with one CD. I'd think they'd
allow spawning for people to try it out in multi at a friend's and go
out and buy it because they had such a blast so they could go home and
play over the internet. This punishes the people who bought the CD and
support Papyrus products. All the KeWlD0odZ can burn all the ISO's
they want I'm guessing so it wasn't implemented to stop warez. Maybe
there's a key verification when you do internet *** but I still
think it's a real pain for the people who paid for the product. Just
my $.02.

Umm. Adam, Me and my brother use dialup networking and neither of us
had the cd in the machine to race. I think Papy is verifying the cd on their
server, in effect making you register the product with them to game from
their servers. Which is fine, as I don't race online against anybody else.

On the other side, I think this is the most polished product I've seen out
of
them yet. I've only run on a handful of the tracks sofar, And the quality of
play
and the detail level is simply incredible. As an example, Me and my wife
go to the Milwaukee Mile every year for the BGN/Truck weekend. The detail
level of that track is incredible. A lot of fine little details specific to
that track
just jump out at me. And a lot of the little things that were fixed- such as
the
ability to rearrange an entry list without having to go thru the tedium of
deleting and adding back in the whole bottom of the list. They've really
done their homework this time. Thanks Papyrus.
Later. -Mark Gums

You're right Mark. It only does a CD check for internet play. Still a
pain but not that big of a deal. I still manage to enjoy the game <G>.
