I have the Screamin3D card and I want to know if I upgrade my DirectX to
version 5 will it be alright. My main concern is N2. Right now I have
version 3. Any help would be appreciated.

I upgraded to Direct X 5.0 few weeks ago with no problem.
I also have the Screamin 3d card.
Your going to have to have it anyway for new games.

N2 doesn't even use DirectX, so even if it did give problems, N2 should
still work.

It should work fine. Be careful not to let any programs
reinstall an older version.
The DX5 install program will say it doesn't have drivers
for the Screamin 3d. Install them anyway. Works fine.
My experience with Screaming 3D and DX5 is not good. I seemed to run into all
sorts problems when I tried that combination.
My solution is to get a 3DFX board to complement your Screaming 3D. My self I
got a MiroHiscore 3D (aka Canopus Pure3D) that I am very happy with. I let the
MH3D handle all the D3D stuff and it works great.

> Sure, you want to upgrade to DX5 anyways to keep up with new games.
