Yes there should be a windscreen and it should be yellow, as on the original
car. Not sure what was wrong with your old graphics drivers.

I never noticed the yellow screen on the Lotus in GPL until after I saw a
picture of a '49 and saw it had a yellow screen. The next time I ran GPL I
was happy to see that the sim Lotus also had a yellow screen!
