According to id and LucasArts folks for example, Win95/NT is much
easier for a games programmer than MS-DOS.

That is a misconception, not a fact. A P133 with a 3Dfx card is much
more powerful in 3D rendering than a N64. Take for example the N64-2-PC
ports like SOTE and Turok, they have better 3D graphics on a 3Dfx
Pentium machine (same graphical effects, same or more speed, and four
times the resolution).

Why would he? Quite on the contrary, as Sega's next console will use a
DirectX variant from Microsoft. I don't think BG hates the money he
gets from that deal, does he?
