Need for Speed and T1 pedals

I'm just now catching some of the talk of the T1 problem with Need for
Speed.  Can anyone elaborate and fill in what I missed?  This has been
a confusing problem....the demo works fine, although it's steering was
awful.  Commercial game steers great, but the pedals won't work!
