everyone can get to a window. You will notice from the historic works you
quote that most peasant types werre eternally ***. Although royalty and
the elite had access to high windows, most peasants had simply a low window
opening to the pig pen where they landed after being thrown out. Similarly,
most English cottages are low-slung. In fact, when I visited London, the
budget hotel had the windows of my room were sealed shut, presumably to halt
anyone who got the urge to turf their mate out from a height (the foyer
windows could open).
So, there you go, proof.
