About the same as the "RollBarCam" view then?

Possibly a fraction lower yet with the ability to still read the instruments
and the mirrors.

Another cool thing with the new views is that you can see when you have
crossed the threshold from "almost locked up" to "definitely locked up" when
braking, since you can now see where the tire meets the road.

The downside of this is that the car appears to be floating a bit, since you
can now also see that there's no shadow from the tires.

Overall, I would definitely recommend snagging the EA modifications, the new
dashboards, and the new driving view while you're at the site.

I love how people keep improving GPL, even 15 months after release.  How
many "games" have had such amazing add-ons provided for free by the general
public?  Only GP2 comes readily to mind.

Kudos to everybody who keeps making the single best piece of software I've
ever purchased even better!

Yes Sir, I'll second that! The new driving view is fantastic! I tried it for
the first time last night with my Ferrari and I love it. I wasn't any faster
(yet<g>), but it's so much easier to see the apex of a turn and place the
car correctly. The biggest difference though, it seems to me, is in races.
Starts are cleaner and I have found it easier to judge passing attempts.

===============================
My thoughts also, Rick.  That was the first thing that struck me with the
Honda and also the "higher" of the two Brabham setups.
From purely a personal viewpoint I reverted to the lower of the Brabham
arrangements (by 'lower" I mean where the driver is sitting lower) and would
like to see Marko do a similar version for the Honda, BRM and Cooper.
It still provides about a 4" higher viewpoint but also hides the majority of
the bottom edge of the tyres and gets rid of the "floating in space" effect.

Not quite, angle is different, in rollbarview you sort of look down, in this
view you look more forward. it's closer to cocpitview than it is to
rollbarview. Sort of "raised"***pitview.

Thanks a lot for posting information about the GPLEA site.  I have had
GPL since it hit the EB shelves and I frequently browse this newsgroup
and other sites related to GPL and sim racing in general, but I had
never found the site you posted.

I really like the taller perspective and my *new* GPLEA Ferrari is
great looking.  GPL born again!

                                  thanks
