Here's some more wishes:

1) When you bump the wall lightly sometimes, you should not stick to the
wall until you slow down.

2) The tires do not heat up correctly on the pace laps.  I know that if I
just drive a very short distance in my (real) car that the tires get
considerably hotter than what the game shows for its tire temperatures.

3) In championship mode, you should not be able to restart a race.

Nascar 2.0 Wishlist

1) Graphics as fast and smooth as ICR 2.

2) Actual body styles of cars portrayed (Tbird, Monte and GP)

3) Working roof flaps (or at least simulated)

4) If 3 above isn't enough, the the cars should roll if the physics
present themselves.

5) SPOTTERS!  Spotter talk on the bottom of the screen (where the
other info (tires, race stats) appears.

I'm probably forgetting a few but...these will suffice till 3.0

: Here's some more wishes:

: 1) When you bump the wall lightly sometimes, you should not stick to the

I am not positive, but I am pretty sure that Papyrus programmed magnets
into the wall for NASCAR.  There are too many times that my car is just
naturally drawn to the walls :-)

: 2) The tires do not heat up correctly on the pace laps.  I know that if I
: just drive a very short distance in my (real) car that the tires get

I TOTALLY agree.  At least with one of the patches they mad a concession
and brought the default tire temp over the ambient temperature.  It is
almost impossible to put any temp into the tires on the pace lap or
yellow flag laps.  The slightest wiggle of the wheel will put the car
into a spin.  This is one of my biggest gripes with their programming.
This one goes all the way back to the original Indianapolis 500 sim.

: 3) In championship mode, you should not be able to restart a race.

Just don't do it.  Show a little self discipline.  But then again, if
they won't give me a way to heat up my tires on the pace lap and they
allow the AI cars to do strange dances down the start/finish straight, I
want a way to restart a race.  (Also allowing the AI cars to slow and
stop quicker on "cold" tires on starts & re-starts is a flaw in
programming also).

All the above apply to ICR2 also!  And for those who are still with
ICR1!

Also, how about allowing those AI cars to lose speed as their tires
wear out.  I could swear those guys just keep on going, lap after lap,
not really any speed loss.  then, wham, they run into the pits when
they are supposed to.  What about tires going down?  What about AI
cars heating up their tires (maybe due to a missed setup that day?)
and making pit stops early, or slowing laptimes.

With that in mind, another feature I would greatly like, is the
ability to switch from MPH laptimes to SECONDS.  let's face it, real
NASCAR Racing strategy deals more with time than mph.  I'd like a way
to track the other cars' laptimes, and rates of closure and/or
departure.  for example,

leader is 3.5 seconds behind you.  last lap he was 3.8 seconds.  rate
of closure is .3 seconds per lap.  at that rate, in 11-12 laps, he
will overtake you.

Go #6 Mark Martin and #16 Ted Musgrave - Jack Roush Racing!!

Two things I'd like to see are laps since last pit stop, and  the AI
drivers being able to keep there cars straight (like through the front
straight at C***te).

NO NO NO George (AKA Sean)!!!

I was racing at Bristol trying to hold out on my pitstop until the
last possible moment.   All my tyres were in the yellow, all cars but
B. Labonte had pitted under green and were therefore lapped .   Bobby
was just in front but I could only do 117 mph laps.   Bobby was not
pulling away so his tyres MUST have been shot as well.

My RF went red so I decided to go in.   Bobby came in next lap.   Was
he just waiting for me?   Spooky.

Therefore, I believe the AI cars suffer as we do.    I hope I am
right.   I will look a wally if not.  :-))

Cheers,

Craig.

I also have run at Bristle, my favorite track, and after about 20 laps,
I start to speed up, after about 40 laps, they start to slow down. I am
playing at 105% opponents but I don't think that has anything to do with
it.
