Thanks...I think I pulled his name out of some of the lyrics Alice
Cooper used to sing...I think the song was Department of Youth and he makes
some reference to Damon Runyon....didn't know who he was, but it sure stuck
in my head and blocked out Damon Skye.

Yeah, I was extraordinarily dissapointed in that.  Soda was a great Sim and
they just let it die.

Bastards!

Wow! I just thought of something completely OFF THE WALL. What about this new TRAC thing? If that ever takes off the ground could
Papyrus simply rework the game in that angle, thereby keeping a racing Sim which it could market to the "fans" and us ***s? Or,
how about ASA or ARCA?

Or did I miss something? Did they say that they are COMPLETELY getting out of racing sims?

That's an interesting idea, TRAC cars will probably be pretty easy to
model, and I think most of the tracks (we know c***te) are already
mapped.
The "rights" for such might even be a split the costs and profits
deal which would work out for both sides.
With Hump helping in the series there is already a relationship with
Papyrus so ????

To those who want a CART sim I say slim to none considering that CART
has to pay to get a TV crew to show up and the ratings have not been
healthy. Plus next years lineup is still in flux 18, 22 cars 11 + 7
"helped:" to show up? engines? chassis?
Don't get me wrong I to would like to see a CART sim but with such a
flux who know.

ASA/ARCA I can see the possibility but the base is rather small (I
know we got GPL and SODA) so that would probably come down to buy rate

WOO/Sprint gets a little more coverage on RPM tonight so knowledge
base is wider.

IRL.. Depends on what T.G has in his mind (I think He licenced
somebody arleady) I think almost all the track are Nascar tracks so
that is done, the cars are real close to a single template so going to
IRL would have half the work done.

That's the point--Sierra/Vivendi announced they won't be doing that.  You
have missed the context of these discussions about Papy.

Do you actually believe that this is the reality of what's happening?  If
so, you should look into the history of how the industry works versus the
bullshit that is dished out in press releases.  The archives of this
newsgroup for the past 8 years will provide all you need.
