I posted earlier this week about USB problems with Logitech FF.
It did work for seveal weeks, now only in serial port. Only the  left
light on the wheel is illuminated. Everything in system manager looks
okay.
 Any other ideas? thanks Tony

Only the left light on?

Oh, thats a power problem I would say.......

First make sure the wires are properly plugged into the wheel and the
pedals, the wire slipped out of my pedals once which took me a while to
figure out what was going on.

Second, check the plug and the socket, I have a little problem with that.
When I have my wheel and modem plugged in both work but when I have the
wheel and printer in there is sometimes a short. They probably are using a
bit too much power for the 2 way adapter I use for them, or something to
that effect. Try removing a few other plugs and see it if will work, have
you added any new plugs or power supplies lately?

If this isn't working check the wire (plugged out of socket course) and see
if you can find and cracks although I doubts thats the problem.

Thirdly, Well, thats about it, You could try removing all Logitech software
and reinstalling and making sure its installed properly in the control
panel.

Don't take anything for  granted, check all the above, if noting works
contact Logitech or where you bought it, there is a 1 year guarantee from
Logi isn't there? Or am I thinking of another wheel?

Since it works in the serial port,do you think it could be the
serial  to usb adapter cord? I didn't have any luck finding one
locally.

Still no USB!!

I watched my lights on my wheel as i booted up the computer.
The left light is on all the time the wheel is plugged in.
The right light only came on just before windows finished loading.
It almost seems like it lights up just after a driver is loaded or
something.

Jim.

Absolutely correct!

Are you selecting Logitech Formula Force USB in the control panel
joystick applet? You cannot select the same device which was
working with the serial port.

It could be the adapter chord, but I would be quite surprised. Do
you have *ANY* other USB devices which work OK?

Since the left light is the power indicator, how do you figure that
it is a power problem?

Wow.

The left light is your power indicator. The right light means the OS
"sees" the wheel and the driver is active. You post is kind of confusing
but if you have the wheel plugged into the serial port, you need to
select 'Logitech Formula Force Serial' in the control panel joystick
applet. If you plug it into your USB and you are running W98 and
it still doesn't work, then it seems like your USB is not setup properly.
It really is that simple to set up.

Also, try DirectX7.

Sorry for the confusion. The wheel works just fine connected to the
serial port.

OK so if you select Logitech Formula Force USB put it on ID#1
it should work. If not (the right LED does not light) then I would
suspect that your USB is not setup properly. Do you have any
other USB devices which work? Lastly, you have W98, right?

It worked for about three weeks with the USB. I talked to
Logitech support for about a half hour with no results.I guess I'll
just use the serial port for now. Thanks for the help.
