So, I wanted to see what all of the hype was about SP3.  After reinstalling
SCGT, I downloaded the 40+ files (thank you RoadRunner) and installed the
patch

I went to configure the my wheel but SCGT does not recognize the TSW wheel.

All I want for Christmas is for all of my driving sims/games to recognize my
wheel.

Santa, Please give me that as a gift

try holding down the pedals as you boot up.  From the first splash
screens til the driver menu screen appears.  Then go to options and make
sure you have the box checked that says, enable controller.
Then go to the individual wheel items, and choose a keyboard
equivalent first.  then you should be able to choose the wheel option
for the same action.
i.e.
 turn right
click on turn right, it will ask you to input a keyboard stroke,
press the right arrow.
then it will say something like: move your controller
so turn right and you "should" be set.
be warned...there are many cars without the proper sound files in
sp3.0.  Most of those can be found at the big three scgt sites or in
idividual car files.  There is a great program called scgtsoundcheck.zip
at gtinsider that will point you to all the right sounds.

I have a similar problem but figured a workaround.  When it comes time
to calibrate the 'turn left' setting, start out with the wheel held
all the way to the right.  Reverse for 'turn right.'  For the pedals
hold down the brake to start with to set the accelerator and reverse
that for the brake.

There was much cussing and flailing around before I figured that out,
but now I can calibrate in only two or three mess ups instead of
dozens as previously.

Having an internal calibration program for the game -- and one which
RETAINS the control settings should be right at the top of the list
for SCGT2 -- along with real headlights...  :)

Sadly this attempt did not work.  Thanks for the advice.
