Please help with Papyrus NASCAR setup

Hi All!
Over Christmas break, I recieved Papyrus NASCAR Racing in my stocking,
(I have a size 15 foot so the box can fit if you push it).
Can someone help me with setting the car up? I can reach semi-competitive
speeds at Talladega, but almost everywhere else I am sliding around the track
like I'm on ice.  Even at Michigan, where in IndyCar Racing I could reach
very competitive speeds, I have a SEVERE oversteer problem.  Also, can
someone explain how the Weight Jacks work?
I know that it sounds like I tossed the manual over my shoulder and into the
round file, but I have read through it and I still have problems.
By the way, excellent simulation.  I may have to upgrade my CPU faster than
I was anticipating (a 486 SX-33 with 8 meg of RAM just doesn't cut it
anymore [or for NASCAR Racing anyway]).

Well, Just as the subject says... Wher can I get a Thrushmaster T1?  I can get
it from a local computer store for $150.  They justify the cost buy
proclaiming that it comes with Indycar Racing.  All I want is the wheel and
pedals!  I've seen a few posts discusing the cost to be somewhere around
$120.  Where?... and can it be found for better?  Thanx

Regards
Barkley...

Check a computer game magazine, Chips and Bits sells them for $115 or so.

Chips & Bits sells the T1 for about $115.  But I think I'd spring for the
$130 or so and get an AutoCockpit, which is apparently better engineered.
($140 from C&B, could be $200+ in a store).

Hi... I too have noticed that the Papyrus setups are very loose (overstreer).
To counter this, take the first couple of laps slowly and very conservatively.
Warm tires will help compensate.

Another thing to do is to up the crossweight (wedge?).  That should tighten
the car up a bit, but be careful... it won't want to turn as much coming off
of a turn and you might slam the wall.

You might also want to increase the rear shock values a bit, depending on the
track.  Also, pay close attention to the drivers suggestions in the manual.
Dave and Joe's suggestions are usually right on the money.

Later...
Steve

The European "manual" doesn't have ANY driver/driving tips!
I any of you Americans have a scanner, an OCR software and some free
time on your hand, how about posting some tips here for us poor
Europeans ...
