Everybody is aware by now that Grand Prix Legends requires a pretty decent
system to run on if you want all the graphic details turned on, all the
sounds, etc.. AND a FULL field of cars.. I thought it might be a good idea
to do a System Performance Test(on my site
http://www.racesimcentral.net/~drbryan/gpl )and find out how GPL is running on
YOUR system.
This is NOT just a "poll".. - there are TWO detailed tests that will be
conducted, and the results will be very detailed...
** "Test A" will push your system to the limits (with settings that should
achieve 36fps on a top-of-the-line system when running a 20-player race at
800 x.. resolution with FULL details ON, and FULL(16) sounds ON.. Just how
BAD is yours??(!)
** "Test B" will establish what settings for your computer are needed in
order to achieve/sustain the MAXIMUM framerate during a race with 5
opponents and 4 sounds turned on.
Got to give credit to a friend, "F1Filter" who suggested the idea to me..

The S.P.T. will be helpful for two reasons:
1)So that you can see for yourself how your system performs in comparison to
other GPLers' systems, and
2)So that others who don't have GPL will be able to see what kind of
requirements their system will need to get decent playability.
Once I start to accumulate your data, I will put together an extensive
report on the different system's performance values.
(I plan to update it once a week). I will have a system-by-system report on
the results of "Test A" and "Test B"
IT MAY BE AN IDEA TO PRINT THE OUT THE FORMS (on my page), FILL THEM IN WITH
A PENCIL AS YOU DO THE TESTS, THEN GO BACK TO FILL IN THE FORMS .. ONLINE.
Anyhow.. I'm looking formward to see the results. Please take part in the
Test even if you have a top-of-the-line system; The survey comprises of
instructions for the tests and and EASY TO USE drop-down menu items. It may
take a few minutes of your time, but I think it will be worth everyone's
time.
