I'm glad everyone is now enjoying the demo!
I was busy all afternoon (and evening), getting the damn thing up on the
web. I've only had time for 3 (yes THREE) laps because I've been so busy. I
had to go to work at 9:30pm (Eastern
Time), and just got back now (3:20AM)..

Thanks again to Sim Racer for his generosity.. without him, I couldn't have
been able to bring the world this great track so soon!

Just for those who haven't yet got it, the Monza demo (track files ONLY) are
available at my site (in Canada, and the first in the WORLD to have it!)
http://www.racesimcentral.net/~drbryan/gpl , and at Edwin Solheim's the
Paddock, at  ( http://www.racesimcentral.net/) in Norway. (I emailed it to
him to relieve congestion on my server - I've had over 500 "hits" in the
last 12 hours!

** I also have posted it to alt.binaries.simulators.autos ** for those of
you who are getting slow downloads.

The file is 2.0 MB, and like I said is the MONZA FILES only. You need the
original demo in order to run it. This demo is available at www.papy.com .
Am still not sure if the CD that "Sim Racer" has has an updated program
"engine" - the original demo that we have is version ~~~0.5. I believe. I
have a strong suspicion that the engine is NOT updated, it is just a new
track file.

I have posted instructions on my site
http://www.racesimcentral.net/~drbryan/gpl on how to install the Monza files.
Please read them and follow them CAREFULLY.

I also have the Windows 98 fix instructions on my site as the original demo
does not work AS IS under Windows 98... Just go to my "Files" section.

One last thing..
Please visit my Italian GP page on my site, and go to the "Save Monza"
section and sign the petition... this great track is about to be
demolished.. (I am not getting paid 1 cent for this, and it will only take a
minute of your time)...  Thanks!

Just curious as to how many people HAVE DONE SO... (please reply here, or
email me).

This great track that we are all driving right now (or will be shortly!) is
about to be DEMOLISHED. Chris Balfe has started the petition so that the
Italian politicians will see that enough people care to preserve this part
of motor racing history. I've had over 500 hits on my web page in the last
12 hours, so hopefully EVERY ONE OF YOU have read the petition and emailed
Chris to "sign" his petition.  PLEASE DO IT AS A THANK YOU to me for posting
the Monza demo.

I would really appreciate a great response.. I know I can count on you guys.

Thanks,
d.b.

p.s. - if anyone has any more questions about GPL (or comments on my Monza
page), just ask me.. I'd be more than happy to reply!

Don't use the Monza track 'til you pay your dues and sign the
petition!  You might learn some interesting racing history by
accident!

I have downloaded the Monza circuit file and signed the petition , also
posted a message regarding Monza to rec.autos.sport.f1, hopefully some of
the fans over there will also sign the petition . BTW thanks to everybody
concerned for the Monza circuit files . Down to the mid 1:34's if only I
could put a good lap together I know I could lose a few secs.

What about not starting yet another OS religious war?
