MS Force Feedback Wheel Centering Problem

by Mr. Kemp » Wed, 09 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Hello all,

I've had an MS Force Feedback Wheel for about a year and a half and have no
prolems with it until now. After hooking up my wheel/pedals and installing
Rally Championship, the wheel no longer returns to a correct, upright center
positio; instead it's tilted to the left to about 10 o'clock. Needless to say
I'm not very fond of holding a wheel that should be dead center with the shift
paddles at 7 o'clock (left) and 1 o'clock (right).

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on and how I could correct this
problem?

Thank you,

Mr. kemper

I'm not sure what causes that, but I found with mine, that if I shut the
power off, turn it past 12 to about 1 o clock, then unplug it, and plug it
back in, that it will center itself in the correct position.

Hope that helps,
TK

Hmmm. The wheel searches for center during power up by turning the wheel
clockwise. If it doesn't find it, it returns the wheel to about the 11
o'clock position. (Is this what you meant?) Cycling the power again from
there centers it everytime. The trick for mine is to turn the wheel to left
of center before plugging in the power. I believe this is true of all MSFF
wheels, and your 1:00 was a typo for 11:00?

Michael.
