GOOD POINTS

The graphics.

The sounds.

The online lag free experience

The ingame GUI.

The choice of cars and tracks.

The handling of 'some' of the cars.

The multiplayer section.

The Marcos LM600 at Brands Indy .....unreal buzz amazing :)

BAD POINTS

Keyboard driven menus and not mouse.

Multiplayer using internal ip address..???!!!

Steering, useable now but please patch it.

The online race starts....(jesus save us,stationary cars that are 'actually'
400 metres down the track..!!)

The online morons (can't Codies spot them a mile off and make the game boot
them..?)

The handling of 'some' cars.

The very existence of the Vancouver track (a concrete claustraphobic hell )

The ability for Hitler Hosts to kick you if you dare question their choice
of a 1 lap race.

More to follow....it tired now :)

yes and no.  they look nice.  and on "test drives" it's extremely smooth
with it too.  but whenever I get into anything remotely resembling a traffic
jam, there is some extremely annoying jerkiness.  Doesn't seem like a simple
FPS slowdown either.  And this is with graphical detail and all that jazz
very much geared towards high FPS and low detail, on a 1.4 GHz with 256 MB
(so in excess of their "recommended requirements")

I guess.

I have a 56K.  If I venture online, people throw things.

mmm-hmmm.

definitely.

quite.

I would also mention that having Sweet Home Alabama play on the main menu
screen is, er, sweet.

a very minor annoyance compared to what else is there

i seem to have two choices - either a very easy arcade style setup in which
you can sit back, put one hand on the wheel like some South Central LA ***
in a lowrider, and give tiny twitches of the steering to ensure the car
stays on its apparent rails.  Or, the more simulation-geared setup which is
just woefully ineffective, has a deadzone the size of Texas and is no fun to
drive at all.

Also, the AI isn't great, which is a shame because Toca 2's wasn't bad.   I
could live with that however if the goddamn steering would get sorted, but
even with all these elaborate fixes it's still a chore to drive the thing,
and I'd much rather just spend time on GPL and N2002.  So it's back to
planet Papyrus for me, and back to the shop for Toca Race Driver.

this problem seems to have vanished.  please disregard.

and....why does this game not have any mirrors, just the useless rear view
button?   although i suppose, with the inept moving-roadblock AI, you're
never going to have the kind of racing that would really require you to have
mirrors anyway (unless you're online).
